On this episode we’re joined by Alex Chaudhri, Director of Infectious Diseases at The Prince Charles Hospital. Alex brought a wealth of experience in clinical medical to his MBA studies from The University of Queensland, where he graduated in 2016. Through our conversation with Alex we were able to get his insights about COVID-19, the importance of leading from within, and how acknowledging vulnerability can help engender trust.
“I practice medicine with a focus on the quality of interactions with patients. Partnering with them and leveraging information technology for shared decision-making, holds promise for improving the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of health care. I also believe that time spent with the patient (whether at the bedside or via telemedicine) is the most valuable resource to provide high quality care; and that technology is a necessary adjunct, not a substitute for the essential humanistic aspects of clinical medicine.”
