The MBA Australasia Awards, formerly known as the Graduate Management Awards, is a prestigious annual event that recognises outstanding achievements, innovation, and leadership in Master of Business Administration (MBA) education. This esteemed ceremony convenes leading professionals, academics, industry leaders, and MBA graduates from a diverse range of management disciplines.
Following the successful return to in-person ceremonies in Brisbane (2022) and Melbourne (2023), we are excited to maintain the momentum! Join us for a spectacular gala at the Doltone House, Hyde Park, Sydney CBD.

The MBAus Awards provide recognition to outstanding members of the MBA community, and shine a spotlight on them, their career, and their actions. This is an opportunity for outstanding business and management graduates to be recognised, and will bring together the most talented alumni, universities, and colleges from around the Australasia region.

Most Outstanding MBA Graduate
The Most Outstanding MBA Graduate award is the pinnacle of recognition for recent MBA graduates who have demonstrated excellence in every aspect of their academic, professional, and personal lives.
This award acknowledges individuals who have not only excelled academically, but also made a meaningful impact in their professional fields, and have been actively involved in extracurricular activities.
- Academic excellence: judges assess the nominees academic performance.
- Professional growth and achievements: the award acknowledge graduates who have demonstrated notable achievements during their studies.
- Leadership and impact: evaluating their leadership qualities, including ability to inspire others, extracurricular activities and impact on the MBA community.
- Potential for future success: graduates with a high potential for making a significant impact on their careers. The judges will consider their career aspirations, leadership potential, innovative thinking and ability to apply MBA knowledge to real-world challenges.
- Recommendations: can be from your business exec or senior leader. This is an optional inclusion.
This award is open to individuals who have graduated from an MBA or EMBA program since June 2023 or will graduate before September 2024.
You’ll need the following information for your nomination:
- Award nominee information (required) – Information of the nominee for the award
- Nominator information (required) – Information of the nominator/supporter
- Copy of Transcript (required) – Nominee’s attached transcript to verify their academic credentials.
- Letter of Nomination (required) – Outlining why the person has been nominated, and why they should be awarded in their category. This letter may be written by the nominee, or another person nominating on their behalf.
- Letter of Recommendation (optional) – Endorsement from the nominees alma mater, employer, or related organisation as to the suitability of the nominee to be recognised in their category.
- Project/ Assignment details (optional) – specific details for the award nominated
- Supporting Documents (optional) – Other documents that provide further proof or explanation to accompany aspects raised in the letter of nomination (any videos, photos, diagrams etc.)

Community Impact
This award celebrates individuals or teams who have made significant contributions to their communities through projects, initiatives, or social endeavours,showcasing the transformative power of business for social good.
The Community Impact Award acknowledges MBA graduates, alumni, or students who have demonstrated a deep commitment to creating positive change and making a lasting impact on their communities.
- Project impact and scalability: initiatives that have had a tangible and measurable impact on the community.Judging the scope and magnitude.
- Sustainability and long-term benefits: the project’s potential to create sustainable, long-term benefits for the community.
- Social equity and inclusion: projects that promote social equity, inclusivity, and empower marginalised populations.
- Leadership and inspiration: evaluating the individual or team’s leadership qualities. Considers the ability to inspire, mobilise and inspire a culture of social responsibility.
- Demonstrated use of knowledge: The nominee’s ability to apply MBA knowledge to real-world challenges.
This award is open to individuals or teams who are current students or have graduated from an MBA or EMBA program since June 2018.

MBA Innovation
The MBA Innovation Award recognises exceptional creativity, ingenuity, and forward-thinking in developing innovative solutions, strategies, or practices in the business world.
This award highlights individuals who have demonstrated an ability to challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of conventional thinking. These initiatives could span various business aspects,such as product or service development, process improvement, organizational strategies, technological advancements and marketing approaches.
- Venture success and growth: entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in building their ventures.
- Differentiation: the uniqueness and creativity of the entrepreneurial idea or business model. Emphasizing the ability to differentiate from competitors.
- Entrepreneurial leadership: individual leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, navigate challenges, and adapt to change. Scalability and longevity: the potential for the venture’s growth and expansion and its ability to achieve long-term sustainability.
- Demonstrated use of knowledge: The nominee’s ability to apply MBA knowledge to real-world challenges.

Distinguished Citizen
The Distinguished Citizen Award shines the spotlight on a culturally diverse MBA alumni who has uniquely crafted their own journey, a quintessential model of optimism, perseverance, and innovation.
The award acknowledges alumnae, their challenges and triumphs, symbolizing an unwavering self-commitment to growth and opportunities to not only carve a niche for themselves but also positively impact the wider ecosystem.
- Compelling story: real-life untold. “Great human advances have not been brought about by mediocre individual; they were brought about by distinctly uncommon people with vital sparks of leadership.”
- Differentiation: the uniqueness and creativity of the entrepreneurial Immigrants who have steered away from conformance to create a better future for themselves.
- Diversity: leadership and ability to inspire and motivate others from different walks of life.
- Demonstrated use of knowledge: the nominee’s ability to apply MBA knowledge to real-world challenges.
- Future possibilities: career aspirations, possibilities and next steps to augment self and contribute to the wider ecosystem in the next five years.

Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer
This award aims to honor educators who have demonstrated exceptional passion, dedication, and the ability to inspire and motivate MBA students in their academic journey.
The award celebrates educators who go above and beyond their instructional responsibilities, creating a transformative learning experience for their students.
These faculty have the extraordinary ability to ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and in still a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
- Passion and enthusiasm : demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and a deep passion for their subject matter.
- Teaching excellence : teaching methods, pedagogical approach, and ability to deliver complex concepts effectively.
- Engagement and support: faculty who actively engage with students, promote active learning, and create a supportive environment.
- Inspirational impact: the ability to inspire and motivate students beyond academic achievements. The influence on students’ growth, leadership development and career aspirations.
- Feedback and testimonials: Judges will take into accountstudent feedback to gauge the lecturer’s impact on thestudent experience.

- Video Submission (Optional) – A short video recording (30-120 seconds) from a student or co-worker describing how the nominee has inspired you personally, and why they should be considered for the Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer award.

Business Excellence and Leadership
This award recognizes exceptional individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, and a track record of driving business excellence within their organizations.
The award celebrates executives, entrepreneurs, or business leaders who have exemplified exceptional leadership qualities and have made significant contributions to their organizations’ success. These individuals have demonstrated the ability to navigate complex business landscapes, inspire teams, drive innovation, and achieve outstanding results.
- Vision and strategy: demonstrated a clear and compelling vision for their organisation’s future and developed effective strategies to achieve their goals.
- Business performance: the leader’s impact on the organisation’s financial performance. Such as revenue,growth, market share etc.
- Innovation and adaptability: leaders who have fostered a culture of innovation, encouraged creativity, and embraced change within their organisations.
- Ethical and responsible leadership: demonstrated strong ethical principles, integrity, and a commitment to CSR.
- Industry impact and reputation: the leader’s influence and impact within their industry or sector. Factors such as thought leadership, industry recognition, contributions to best practice or influence on shaping industry trends.
This award is open to individuals who have graduated from an MBA or EMBA program at any time.
