2018 MBAus conference was another success with more than 120 current MBA students and alumni from 10 major business schools. The 2018 conference theme was “Shaping the Future of Business” and it was hosted again by Melbourne Business School on 1st and 2nd of September. The Keynote speakers included Emilio Romeo CEO, Ericsson Australia and New Zealand, Jenny Wilson from Microsoft, Jamie Simon from SEEK, Claire from World Vision and Benson Saulo from Australian Unity. Ben speech was quite inspiring as he offered some great insight on how companies can build diversity and how individuals can pursue their interest in social impact and actions for culture change within their own organisations. There were some great workshops by Steam Capital and Partners in Performance and the conference was concluded with a networking session at Melbourne roof top bar.
2018 had some new delegate from business schools who decided to be involved with MBAus including University of Queensland as they sent a group of their full-time MBA cohorts to attend the conference in Melbourne. MBA co-founder Nathan Spence mentioned “One of the best things you learn in an MBA is that your network is important to your career. We strongly believe by building this national MBA community, we’re creating better opportunities for people and showing the business world how valuable an MBA is.”
